Rica McKingleyRica McKingley was recruited by Dennis Mooney, Senior Vice President.  Originally from West Africa (Sierra Leone), McKingley has lived in the Poconos for the past 15 years.  McKingley graduated real estate school from the Worthington, Penn State campus in April of 2015.  In addition to that, she maintains a BA from Binghamton University.  McKingley has over 10 years’ works experience in sale.  She is a member of the Pocono Community Church, is married and a mother of 4 children.

Denise GareisDenise Gareis who was recruited by Lynn Wilklow, Vice President/Company Recruiter/Sales Manager, is originally from Pasadena, MD and has lived in the Poconos for the past 2 years.  Gareis graduated from the Pocono Real Estate Academy in November 2015.  Gareis was pleased that she passed both Pennsylvania State exams on the first try.  When asked what attracted her to the Better Homes and Gardens brand, she said it was the free training.  Prior to joining Wilkins, Gareis worked for a non-profit organization.  She volunteers locally at AWSOM since August of 2014.

Said Wilklow,  “I recruit on a fairly steady basis and the same question always comes up—‘who’s going to train me and how do I learn how to list and sell real estate’; and of course, my answer is always the same—‘we, your Managers, coaches and mentors will train you; and the best part is it’s all for free.”

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, through the Greenhouse, offers numerous programs for experienced and new agents to better their careers.

Ingrid V EagonIngrid Eagon was hired by Dennis Mooney and will work from the BHG Business Campus in Stroudsburg.  Eagon, a 15 year resident of the Poconos, has been an independent contractor and small business owner for a number of years.  “I established myself in the corporate travel industry in the tristate area.  I developed many skills in the areas of sales management, business development, marketing and global contract negotiations.” said Eagon about her past business performance.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate teaches another important part of the business and that’s time management.  When you have someone that has worked for their self or has been in the corporate travel industry which requires multi-tasking, it definitely helps strengthen their real estate career.

Said Mooney, “Over 90 percent of the recruits we’re bringing into the business are maintaining themselves in the business as full-time Realtors.  Although we have some that still continue at a 40-hour a week job, they’ve committed themselves to an additional 30 hours in real estate and it’s paying off for them.  We simply took the word ‘part-time’ out of our vocabulary and now with virtual agents the idea that I’ve got to be at the office has changed.”

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates have 4 offices in the Pocono Mountains.  Having started the business in 1988 with 3 persons in Mt. Pocono, Wilkins has remained a leader in the Pocono Real Estate industry.  Thomas R. Wilkins, CEO and founder of the company predicts 2016 to be a strong market.  Wilkins stated, “I haven’t seen the December numbers yet, but I have to assume that we beat 2014 and I would have to say that 2016 should beat 2015, or at least that’s the way it’s supposed to go.”
